Gülhane Park

Gülhane Park is the oldest park in Istanbul. It is located at the foot of the Topkapi Palace, of which it was part during its golden age.

The park, which opened to the public in 1912, had several attractions including a zoo. During the last years the park has been restored and now houses several Museums of Istanbul. Nowadays it is a more beautiful and safe place to rest.

Whether you are traveling with children or just want to relax for a while, the central location of the park, in the heart of the historic center, makes for a stroll through the trees.

Gülhane Park is an ideal place to take a walk and sit and watch the daily life of the inhabitants of Istanbul. You will see an entirely different atmosphere to that one breathes a few meters of the park.

If you want to have tea and enjoy great views of the Asian side, in the part of the park closest to the sea you will find some fantastic terraces.
